lyrics

i wait all winter for a sunny day
and glowing flowers at the end of May
the cricket lullabies through June
July leaves it seems before it blooms
there's a heavy heat on August's breathe
well boys, i've got my fire hydrant wrench

September calls out loud and clear,
"All Hollows is gettin' near."
November says, "Boy, grow your beard."
and the Prophet's birthday disappears
and I ride like hell into a New Year
before February calls back old fears
and the cacklin' caw of the Full Crow Moon
means the steelhead are runnin' soon
i'll spring back unto my feet
and go run wild through the boiling streets
i'll stash the winnings from that kid i bet
and come back with my fire hydrant wrench

about

Gar Clemens Greensboro, North Carolina

Gar Clemens' delightful Americana-influenced-folk debut full-length may be simple, sleepy and comforting, but it is also thematically captivating, and all too capable of stirring up the kind of nagging life sentiments usually reserved for when your head hits the pillow.
